HemSim
In this simulation-based system, military medics gets hands-on training in applying hemostatic agents to stop hemorrhage in wounds that are not manageable by tourniquet.
Users stand over any existing training manikin and complete case-based scenarios in which they control simulated hemorrhage using hemostatic agents, thus gaining the requisite knowledge, experience, and practice.
Deployment of this system promises to enhance the ability of military and civilian care providers to successfully manage hemorrhage in cases where a tourniquet cannot be applied.
