JLTV Crew Safety
Current combat casualty data are integrated with tactical and vehicle damage data to identify how next-generation joint light tactical vehicles (JLTVs) can be enhanced to increase survivability.
This work enables estimation of ranges of injury severity based on crash parameters in vehicles using crash test dummies wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and allows development of measurable criteria for testing next-generation military vehicles. It will be used to enhance combat vehicle protection, thereby promising to reduce injuries and deaths among US fighting forces.
