Jobs At SimQuest: Graphics Internals Specialist
This person will be responsible for extending the morphology capability of SimQuest’s Surface Wound Mapping product. Specifically, this includes using anthropometric data to guide the morphological transforms, morphing the body while holding items covering the body invariant, and computing surface areas of arbitrary regions of the body. We are looking for a self-motivated and creative individual with at least two years experience developing C++ code and possessing good graphics knowledge (OpenGL, scene graphs and shaders). This person’s responsibilities will include developing CT segmentation and registration algorithms for hard and soft tissue facial structures and developing and implementing algorithms to do part-specific matching of patient facial anatomy to the general facial model. We are looking for a self-motivated and creative individual with five years experience developing C++ code, who has good graphics knowledge (OpenGL required), has two years experience working with imaging toolkits such as VTK, ITK, and Slicer3 and has a foundation in shape representations. Person will be responsible for leading a two- or three-person team to architect and develop a searchable database of CT scans. Tasks including developing the indexing and processing infrastructure, extending SimQuest’s Surface Wound Mapping™ Software Suite to invoke CT database searching and retrieval, and registering and extracting information from images. Physics Programmer Job Description SimQuest is looking for a physics programmer to be responsible for developing finite element-based soft-tissue representations that support real-time interaction with surgical tools. The successful candidate should be familiar with the extensive prior work in the field of surgical simulation including finite element formulations (both traditional nonlinear approaches as well as various real-time approximations), real-time collision detection and response between rigid and deformable objects, multi-processor/core implementations, and integration with haptics devices. The position is based in Boston, MA; there will be little or no travel.
