SimQuest will participate again this year
in the Johnstown Showcase for Commerce, the largest business and industry
show and premier defense contracting exhibit in the region.
Advanced Initiatives in Medical Simulation
Conference (AIMS)
May 16-17, 2006, Washington , DC
SimQuest again took part in the AIMS
conference, joining other key members of the medical simulation community
in the May 17 exhibit as part of an effort to increase Congressional awareness
of the need for improved healthcare training methods.
Harald Scheirich Joins SimQuest as New
3D Programmer

Harald Scheirich has joined SimQuest after working on an application utilizing
the Java OpenGL bindings, the lightweight Java game library (LWJGL), and the
scenegraph/game engine, JMonkeyEngine, for visualization of stage lighting. He
brings experience developing games in C++ and in Macromedia Director (2D and
3D), and has developed/managed development of Web-based applications using HTML,
ASP, and JSP. Mr. Scheirich has worked in stereoscopic image generation and presentation
methods and implemented an anaglyphic viewer for AVS (Advanced Visualization
System) data as well as a small application to utilize the Shutter glasses on
the departments SGI workstations.
SimQuest Awarded Phase II SBIR grant from US Army for SOSTS Project

This Phase II funding made possible continued development of a simulation-based
open surgery training system (SOSTS) for tasks critical to combat casualty
care. The prototype to be built in Phase II will assess the best use
of sensory interface information to optimize cost-effective transfer
of training.

for Combat Casualty Care (ATACCC) conference in St. Pete Beach, Florida
